Hey (this may be a little irrelevant but) I went to monetery bout 2 weeks ago and the diving was awesome, at monastary the waves were lapping at the shores which was unbealiveable for me and vis was bout 15-20ft (i'm used to 1-10 hahah). I also learned that checking the tide and swell forecast certainly helps to plan out a better dive, so if your planning a dive then i would do that, especially if your gonna hit monastery. Tell me how it goes

thanks for the info

depending on the conditions we will probably diver lovers or otter cove. If conditions are better else where we may go to a different dive spot. I'm probably in the minority and very rarely dive monastary with out a boat.
But I'll let you guys know how the dive goes.

Re: thanks for the info

check the monteray wave model, it's supposed to storm sat night into sunday so vis will be down a bit probably, I know the water temp has dropped the last few weeks (led a boat dive last sat and was 43 at 80 feet.) Sat might not be so good, depending on storm surge.

If you need a link to wave models, goto www.wallins.com and click the "links" tab across top, you get a great graphic of conditions for next 3 days.

Hope the diving is great!! I leave Thurs the 12th for 2 days of diving Wreck alley in San Diego, my hometown!!
